A record store offering new and used vinyl records has opened in downtown Macon.

Fresh Produce Records, 451 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., also sells independent recordings from local and international artists, according to a news release.

Owner William Dantzler said he was excited about opening his own store since his parents were entrepreneurs.

“I always knew I wanted to work for myself,” he said in the release.

The store will host in-store performances the first and third Friday of each month and will promote events at other Macon venues.

The store is open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
