A longtime Macon jewelry store is going out of business after it sells about $3.5 million worth of inventory.
The sale of Fordham Jewelers at 3648 Mercer University Drive is expected to take about three or four months, said Charles Fordham, who owns the business with his wife, Carol Fordham.
Charles Fordham said he and his wife are closing because of health issues.
I still love the business, said Fordham, 64. Macon has been good to us.
The jewelry store first opened in 1985 on Eisenhower Parkway across from Macon Mall, he said. It moved to its current location 11 years ago.
