Woman shot in neck on Pio Nono

A woman was found shot in the 1900 block of Pio Nono Avenue early Sunday.

Precinct 4 officers from the Macon Police Department responded to a call of a person shot at 1:24 a.m. and found a 38-year-old black female with a gun shot wound to the neck, according to a news release.

The woman was being assisted by her husband and was transported to The Medical Center of Central Georgia, the release stated.

No further information was available about her condition, name or the incident.
