Macon police responded to a suspicious vehicle along the 400 block of Maynard Street and found more than an ounce of marijuana, two guns and several gang documents.
Wednesday, officers arrested Pierre Merriweather, 26, of Warner Robins, on charges of felony possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm in committing a felony and possession of a firearm in government housing, according to a police report released Friday.
After receiving a call about a suspicious vehicle, the responding officer said he could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from a Nissan Versa parked along Maynard Street, the report said. He found Merriweather and a passenger that identified himself as Chris. Smoke and the smell of a burned marijuana cigarette emanated from the vehicle, the report said.
While the officer requested backup, the passenger exited the vehicle and escaped, the report said.
A search by the responding officer and a K-9 unit revealed the marijuana and two handguns, a Taurus .38-caliber and a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber. A Halloween mask also was recovered, the report said.
An officer with the Macon Police STRIKE team identified documents in the vehicle as gang-related, including a notebook with a list of names. The report identified the gang as the MOB Piru.
