Six Middle Georgia hospitals were named Top Performer on Key Quality Measures for 2012 by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America.
The hospitals and the measures for which they are being recognized are:
Coliseum Medical Centers, Macon: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care;
Coliseum Northside Hospital, Macon: pneumonia and surgical care;
Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health, Macon: hospital-based inpatient psychiatric care;
Carl Vinson Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dublin: pneumonia;
Fairview Park Hospital, Dublin: heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care;
Perry Hospital, Perry: pneumonia and surgical care.
The hospitals were six of 1,099 hospitals in the U.S. earning the distinction as top performer for attaining and supporting excellence in accountability measure performance.
