Freeze warning from Macon northward

You’d better bring in tender plants.

Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing early Saturday morning for the northern half of Georgia.

A freeze warning is posted along and north of a line from La Grange to Macon to Louisville from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Farmers are urged to harvest or protect cold-sensitive crops.

The warning covers Macon, Forsyth, Roberta, Jeffersonville, Milledgeville, Eatonton, Athens, Atlanta and other communities north of the midstate.

Frost is possible for most of the rest of Middle Georgia south of Macon.

A frost advisory covers people north of a Fort Benning to Eastman to Swainsboro line, where temperatures in the upper 30s are expected from 2a.m. to 10a.m. Saturday.

Warner Robins, Columbus, Dublin, Cochran, Hawkinsville and Wrightsville are included in the frost advisory.

Macon’s low dropped to 37 degrees Thursday. It was 33 in Cartersville.
