Macon demolishes 46th house since July

October 14, 2013

A Macon Public Works Department crew tore down a house at 1612 Pio Nono Lane on Monday, the 46th abandoned building to be demolished by the city since July 1.

It was the start of the third round of Mayor Robert Reichert’s “5X5” neighborhood cleanup program, which does intensive work in five blocks of a particular neighborhood for five weeks, rotating through each of the city’s five wards.
