Lizella man doing ‘civic duty’ peed on cop car

It was just past midnight Saturday when a Macon cop spotted the man.

Officer James Litton, sitting in his cruiser after the Luke Bryan concert at Central City Park, watched the guy walk up to Sgt. Steve Draper’s squad car and relieve himself on it.

“I immediately exited my vehicle,” Litton wrote in an incident report, “and ... asked him if he knew he was urinating on a police car.”

The man, a 55-year-old from Lizella, acknowledged he did know, that in fact he’d been “looking for the closest one,” Litton’s report noted.

The man was cited for public indecency, taken to the Bibb County jail and later released.

Reached by phone Wednesday, the man said the cruiser had “a little mud on the tire. I thought I’d do my civic duty and rinse ’em off.”
