Last day to register to vote in Houston, Peach is Monday

Monday is the last day to register to vote in municipal elections in Houston and Peach counties.

Voters will decide several races this November, including one for Warner Robins mayor. Other contested races on the ballot are:

• Centerville City Council, Post 2;

• Warner Robins City Council, Posts 1, 3, 4 and 5;

• Byron City Council, Post 5;

• Fort Valley mayor;

• Fort Valley City Council, at-large and West Ward; and

• Fort Valley Utility Commission, at-large and East Ward.

In addition, voters will decide whether to limit the senior tax exemption in Centerville and whether to serve alcohol on Sundays in Fort Valley.

Early voting for the Nov. 5 elections is Oct. 15-Nov. 1 in Warner Robins and Centerville and is Oct. 14-Nov. 1 in Byron and Fort Valley.

To register, voters must be residents of the city in which they will cast their ballot, be 18 years old by the election date, not be convicted of a felony unless those rights have been restored and be mentally sound.

Voters may download a voter registration form at or pick one up at any city hall or board of elections office. Name and address changes also must be made by Monday.
