Community Housing Fair coming Saturday

The Warner Robins Georgia Initiative for Community Housing will host a Community Housing Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. The goal of the event is to provide information to the community about all aspects of housing, according to a news release.

The event will take place at the Wellston Center at 155 Maple St. Nonprofit and neighborhood leaders will be present to answer questions about fair housing, rehabilitation, home ownership, consumer credit counseling services and other community housing options, the release states.

Breast cancer awareness events planned for October

The Medical Center of Peach County has a series of events planned in October to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All events will take place at the hospital, 1960 Ga. 247 Connector in Byron.

Planned events include:

• Mammo Marathon mammogram screenings, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 22. Call 478-654-2011 for an appointment;

• Medical Center of Peach County Health Fair, 8 a.m.- 11 a.m. Saturday. There will be health screenings, exhibits, giveaways, music and face painting for children;

• Nutrition, Weight and Breast Cancer lunch and learn, 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 10. Call 478-654-2240 to RSVP; and

• Know Your Genes genetic presentation for women ages 18-50, 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Call 478-654-2240 for reservations.
