ATHENS - Georgia's home game against Appalachian State on Nov. 9 will kick off at 12:30, UGA announced. It will be broadcast on WSB in Atlanta, with other potential affiliates yet to be announced.
The game is sandwiched between two road trips for Georgia: The annual game in Jacksonville against Florida, and the visit to Auburn on Nov. 16.
Gurley misses practice
Todd Gurley (ankle) was not practicing on Tuesday, but Richt still not saying anything about his game status.
"When we say day-to-day, that's the best way to describe it, because you don't know how fast a guy will heal, and how fast the swelling will go down," Richt said.
But Richt made clear he doesn't expect Gurley's injury to be long-term.
"He was supposed to be in crutches, but I looked out the window and watched him walking with his crutches over his shoulder," Richt said, smiling. "So I don't know if that's a telltale sign, but hopefully it won't be too long."
Richt also misses practice
Richt was not at the early portion of Tuesday's practice, missing the first half in order to attend the funeral of former player Paul Oliver, which was set to begin at 2 p.m. in Atlanta. Richt returned for the latter portion, according to the team.
Oliver, 29, committed suicide last week, and Richt admitted at the time to being deeply affected by it. Oliver played at Georgia from 2004-06.
Tennessee will be wearing dark gray uniforms this week. (Richt has said Georgia will still wear the usual road white.) Richt was asked if the uniform gambits work as a motivator.
"You tell me: When you win it was a great idea, when you lose it was a bad idea," Richt said, smiling. "When you lose they want you to burn them - and that includes helmets."
Richt won't paint chest
In the wake of Mark Fox painting his chest and dressing up as a spike squad member on Saturday, Richt was asked if he had any plans to do the same at a men's basketball game.
"I told him on the front end: No," Richt said. "He told me he was thinking of doing it, and I told him that's great, but I can't do it. ... I'd have to start P90X-ing now, and shave my body."
