The Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority is now ready to seek as much as $50 million in bonds to help Pactiv LLC, which wants to rebuild its Advanced Packaging Solutions plant on Airport Drive after a devastating fire.
A judge is scheduled to consider validating the taxable industrial development revenue bonds in a court hearing scheduled for 11 a.m. Oct. 7 in Bibb County Superior Court.
The industrial authority would issue the bonds, which would be required to be paid by September 2024. Pactiv would lease the improvements from the authority.
The Telegraph has reported the company had 216 full-time employees and at least 40 part-time or temporary employees in the building near the Middle Georgia Regional Airport. Pactiv has said it plans to rebuild in the same footprint of the old building.
The fire occurred May 1.
