A woman withdrawing cash from an automated teller machine was confronted by a man demanding money.

The victim told police she had used the Wells Fargo ATM at 484 Mulberry St. and was headed back to her car just before 2 p.m. Sunday.

A black man, believed to be in his late 60s, had his hand in a plastic grocery bag as if he had a gun, according to a Macon police news release.

The man, who was about 5 feet 9, had a low haircut and was wearing black dress pants and a brown floral dress shirt when he approached the woman.

She refused to give him money, and he walked away headed down Third Street toward Cherry Street, the release stated.

Anyone who might have seen him or has any other information is urged to call Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.
