Staff reportSeptember 27, 2013

Macon Purrs N Paws, a local animal rescue organization, will be open Saturday from 1-4 p.m. for adoptions at its shelter off Rocky Creek Road.

Adoptions are $40, which include age-appropriate shots, worming, a spay or neuter, and a rabies vaccination, according to the rescue group. Adopters of black cats, which are often overlooked in animal shelters, can adopt two for the price of one, director Anne Brennaman said.

For more information, call 478-508-7293. The shelter is in the Fall Line Plaza shopping center at 1546 Rocky Creek Road.
