Bereavement camp for children to be in Fort Valley

Staff reportSeptember 24, 2013

Registration is now open for Camp WINGS, a bereavement camp for children who have lost a loved one.

The camp, for children ages 6-16, will be held Nov. 1-3 at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley. It is “designed to help children understand their feelings of grief and loss are normal,” according to a news release. Trained staff will work with the campers, the release states.

To register, call Heart of Georgia Hospice at 478-953-5161. There is a $10 registration fee.

To help with the cost of the camp, Heart of Georgia Hospice is seeking community sponsorships of $150 per child. Checks may be made payable to Heart of Georgia Hospice with “Camp WINGS” in the remarks section.
