Ramsey wins Furman tournament

Sisters Taylor and Ashlan Ramsey will play for the Clemson golf team this fall. The John Milledge graduates will be among the first players for the new program at Clemson.

Former John Milledge standout and Clemson freshman Ashlan Ramsey claimed her first collegiate tournament victory Sunday at Furman’s Lady Paladin Invitational.

In just her second collegiate event, Ramsey finished at 7 under after rounds of 68-71-70 for a three-shot victory. Ramsey’s sister and Clemson teammate, Taylor, played as an individual and finished tied for 75th at 24 over.

Wisconsin won the team event, while Clemson, in its first season, finished second for the second straight tournament.
