Twiggs deputies investigating man’s 2011 disappearance

The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of a man last seen at 6 p.m. Dec. 19, 2011.

Deputies, fire and rescue volunteers and the Georgia State Patrol’s aviation division have conducted ground and aerial searches for 49-year-old Troy Burnette, according to a news release.

Burnette, a 5-foot 6-inch tall black man who weighs about 168 pounds, suffers from poor vision and hearing loss, according to the release.

Deputies have said Burnette also has taken medicine for seizures.

He was last seen at his home on Gallimore Mill Road and was wearing a blue windbreaker, a dark T-shirt and blue jeans, according to the sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information about Burnette’s whereabouts is asked to call deputies at 478-214-1424 or 478-951-6790 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68-CRIME.

Deputies have scheduled a news conference for Friday to discuss the case.
