Drive-thru flu shots are available at the Macon-Bibb County Health Department Monday for those who want to get a jump on flu season.
Its the only day that the department will offer the vaccine to people in their cars.
The hours will be 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The department is located at 171 Emery Highway.
Bibb County residents ages 6 months and older are encouraged to get a flu shot. Flu season starts as early as October and can last as late as May, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Those who cant make it Monday can get vaccinated at the health department Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Flu shots cost $25. The flu shot is free if you are on Medicaid, Peachcare, Wellcare, Amerigroup, Medicare Part B, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia, or the state health benefit plan through United Healthcare or Cigna.
