A Barnesville woman initially charged in the 2011 murder of a Family Dollar assistant manager and an attempted carjacking on Forsyth Road pleaded guilty to robbery by force Monday in Bibb County Superior Court, according to the district attorneys office.
A sentencing hearing for 23-year-old Ronesha Mikwameia Smith has not been scheduled.
Smith, 21-year-old Antonio Browner and 26-year-old Quartez Dorez Carter were initially charged in the April 12, 2011, shooting death of Gary Bennett Cole Jr., 38, at the Family Dollar store on Houston Avenue and an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of Macon Monogramming on Forsyth Road from the same day.
Browner, who was identified using surveillance footage from the Family Dollar store and the Bibb County Courthouse by his red pajama pants with the cartoon character Stewie from TVs Family Guy, was convicted of murder and several other charges following a trial in 2011. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Authorities have said Smith acted as the getaway driver for the killing and evidence from the carjacking attempt was found in her vehicle when she was arrested.
Carters case still is pending.
