A man and woman who allegedly robbed and shot a woman after picking her up at a Pio Nono Avenue car lot were indicted Tuesday.
Diana Gaberilla Kennedy, 39, of Dorothy Avenue and Demetrius Monterrell Scott, 37, of Burton Avenue are charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault, according to the indictment filed in Bibb County Superior Court.
Kennedy and Scott allegedly gave 37-year-old Anita McDaniel a ride on Jan. 3. McDaniel told authorities she was in the front passenger seat when a man in the back seat demanded money from her during the ride. The man shot her in the shoulder when she refused, according to the Bibb County Sheriffs Office.
McDaniel later gave the man and woman cash. They dropped her off at a gas station between Pio Nono and Houston avenues.
Scott also was indicted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He pleaded guilty in 1992 to voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault, according to the indictment.
State prison records show that Scott was incarcerated for about 16 years before his release in December 2009.
Kennedy and Scott are being held at the county jail.
