Preparedness Day gives disaster tips

If a tornado ravaged your home or a dirty bomb exploded in downtown, would you be ready?

The Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency wants to put disaster readiness on your mind Saturday with Preparedness Day at the Shoppes at River Crossing.

Behind Belk between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., EMA will be distributing information that could keep you safe if tragedy strikes close to home.

A Community Emergency Response Team will demonstrate skills designed to help those close to them in the minutes, hours or days before first responders can arrive in a catastrophe.

The Telegraph is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
