A Macon homeowner who told police Wednesday that he was shot by an unknown black man when he opened his front door admitted on Thursday that he shot himself.
Drexel Paul Holton contacted Macon police detective on Thursday to talk about the shooting that occurred at his Sugarloaf Circle residence. Detectives met him at his home and he admitted he shot himself. Originally, Holton stated he heard a noise at the front door. He alleged that when he opened it, he was shot in the upper thigh by an unknown black male.
Holton, 50, was charged with false report of a crime, a misdemeanor and was transported to the Bibb County jail. He was released Thusday afternoon on $1,300 bond.
