A 47-year-old Macon man accused of raping a teenage girl multiple times was on probation at the time of the offenses and had been banished from Ware County.
L.J. Roquemore, of Swan Drive, is charged with rape, statutory rape and child molestation. He was denied bond Thursday in a hearing in Bibb County Superior Court.
Prosecutor Matt Hurst said the allegations against Roquemore surfaced in February 2012 when police responded to a fight and spoke with a then-17-year-old girl who said Roquemore had raped her multiple times since 2007.
A number of times, he picked the lock for the girls room while she was in the shower, Hurst said. This was an ongoing thing, he said.
At the time, Roquemore was serving a probation sentence for cocaine possession, he said.
Kevin Ströberg, Roquemores lawyer, said some of the incidents are alleged to have occurred while Roquemore was jailed.
Roquemore, who was arrested on the charges Aug. 8, is being held at the Bibb County jail, according to jail records.
