Fair concert tickets on sale now

Tickets are on sale now for concerts during the Georgia National Fair.

Hunter Hayes, along with Love and Theft, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5, and Justin Moore, along with Thompson Square, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Both concerts will be in Reaves Arena at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry.

Tickets, which went on sale Saturday, are $30 each plus handling fees. Tickets purchased in advance include admission to the fair. To buy tickets, go to www.georgianationalfair.com, and click on “Get Tickets.”

Paramedic honored

A paramedic with Houston Healthcare has been recognized for 20 years of service by the board of directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.

LaMonte Mears has 20 years of consecutive service as a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician. It’s a distinction held by few EMTs, according to a news release.

To maintain his status, every two years Mears completes a recertification program and participates in continuing education.

WRHS grad finalist for national award

A Warner Robins High School graduate is one of four finalists for the National FFA Proficiency Award in Environmental Science and Natural Resources-Entrepreneurship/Placement.

Ronnie Kent Jr. will compete for the award at the national FFA convention Oct. 30-Nov. 2 in Louisville, Ky., according to a news release.
