A 60-year-old Macon man was walking home from a convenience store on Montpelier Avenue about 1 a.m. Tuesday when two black men approached him demanding money, according to Macon police.

The man said he didn’t have any money, to which the two men responded, “We’re gonna see what you got anyway.”

The men hit him with a stick and knocked him unconscious with a brick, the report said. Two passersby saw the man on the ground and called 911. The man told police his attackers took $20 from him. The incident is being investigated.
