Shakey’s Pizza Parlor will close its doors Saturday after more than 40 years of serving the Warner Robins community. A new restaurant, Jimbo’s Pizza and Buffet, will open in the same location the next day, according to a news release.

The new eatery bears the nickname of owner Jim Kiefer, who started his first job washing dishes at Shakey’s in 1974. He bought the pizza parlor in 1984 from Wheeler Bearden, who opened the North Houston Road location in 1971, the release states.

“It’s been a great ride, so many special memories,” Kiefer said in the release.

Jimbo’s Pizza and Buffet will open at 11 a.m. Sunday. Its offerings will include pizza, a salad bar, vegetables, catfish, shrimp and crab cakes, the release states.
