Flash flood watch extends through Monday

More rain is in Monday’s forecast after parts of Central Georgia received up to 3 inches of rain Sunday.

The National Weather Service has continued the flash flood watch until 8 p.m. Monday as another 1 to 2 inches of rain could fall as an upper low pressure system will churn up additional moisture across the region.

The soggy ground means trees are susceptible to toppling in additional rain and flash flooding.

Rapid rises on creeks, streams and rivers are also possible.

Do not to drive through flooded streets as the road might be compromised and a surge of water could sweep your vehicle away.
