State School Superintendent John Barge says he is considering running for governor, as talk continues of him possibly challenging Gov. Nathan Deal for the Republican nomination during the 2014 primary.

“It’s possible,” Barge said about running for governor. “It’s something we’re considering.”

Barge stopped at Centerville Elementary School Friday as part of a statewide tour of the 2012 Georgia Schools of Excellence. Barge said he will decide whether to run for governor in the next few weeks.
