The Monticello football program has won $5,000 in a video contest conducted by Hooters and Jon Gruden, former NFL head coach and analyst on ESPN's Monday Night Football.

The check presentation will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Hooters of Macon.

The Hurricanes were a winner in the "Gruden Giveaway Video Upload Contest," which required contestants to upload a video explaining why Hooters is their favorite place to watch games and why their high school booster club deserves a $5,000 grant.

Hurricanes' booster club member Michael Cavender said the prize money will help in purchasing a golf cart for the team and will help ease the burden of the overall program budget.

A group of coaches and players will have the chance to meet Gruden on Wednesday in Atlanta.
