A new restaurant is expected to open in Warner Robins in early September.
Renovations are underway at 3123 Watson Blvd. for Barberitos, an Athens-based Southwestern bar and grill that claims to serve the freshest and best-tasting burritos.
It is a quick-serve restaurant offering fresh, Tex-Mex cuisine. None of the restaurants has freezers or microwaves, as all food is prepared fresh.
Phillip and Martin Kohnen, who are brothers and own the Barberitos franchises in Milledgeville and Macon, also own the one in Warner Robins, said Amanda McCallister, director of marketing.
At 4,000 square feet, this store will be the largest for the company and will be the first one with a full bar, McCallister said.
The eatery expects to hire 20-25 employees, and applicants may apply by email to Phil Kohnen at Pkohnen@barberitos.com, she said.
Barberitos has 49 signed restaurant locations, 33 of which are open for business in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.
