WR police to hold Citizen Police Academy

The Warner Robins Police Department will hold a 12-week Citizen Police Academy starting in August.

Classes will meet 6-8 p.m. every Thursday from Aug. 8-Oct. 24 at the training center at 212 Stalnaker Avenue. Participants will learn about different parts of law enforcement, including hiring, investigations, SWAT and use of force, according to a news release.

Ride-alongs will be “highly recommended,” the release states.

To register, call 929-7252 or sign up at www.wrpolice.org. Classes are free, and applicants do not have to live in Warner Robins to participate.

International City Farmers Market seeks feedback

The International City Farmers Market is asking people to take a survey about the market and how it can better serve the community.

The survey consists of five questions, including one asking what fruits, vegetables or food related products you would like to see at the market.
