Gunman robs Family Dollar on Houston Avenue

A gunman wearing a ski mask robbed the Family Dollar store on Houston Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Friday. After walking into the store, the gunman forced two clerks behind the counter, according to a Macon police report released Monday. He pointed a pistol at the head of one of the clerks and ordered her to open the cash register.

After walking into the store, the gunman forced two clerks behind the counter, according to a Macon police report released Monday. He pointed a pistol at the head of one of the clerks and ordered her to open the cash register.

He stuffed his pockets with an undisclosed amount of cash and coins, then left the store walking toward West Ormond Terrace.

No one was injured.

A search for the robber was unsuccessful.
