Domestic violence suspect tells police he shot himself

Macon police heard a gunshot early Monday morning while searching for a domestic violence suspect in the 3400 block of Lawton Road.

Michael Fuller, 29, was found with a gunshot wound about 4 a.m., about 45 minutes after his girlfriend told police he was very intoxicated, had a gun and wouldn’t stop arguing with her, according to a Macon police report.

After officers heard the shot, a woman in the 3500 block of Case Street called 911 about 10 minutes later to report Fuller showed up wounded at her home in the Bellevue neighborhood.

He told officers he shot himself, but did not know exactly where it happened or what happened to the weapon.
