Cody Rhodes found wrestling success in the center ring of the Macon Coliseum when he won the state championships during his junior and senior years of high school. The Marietta native and son of WWE Hall of Famer The American Dream Dusty Rhodes will return to the Coliseum on Saturday as a WWE wrestler in his own right.
I was just 21 when I made my WWE debut, a little undersized and a little underwhelming, but I had a boatload of potential. I had a connection with the fans based on my dad, but I want to carry on the name in a different fashion, Cody Rhodes said.
Rhodes is known not only for his good looks, but also for his signature kicks, crossroads and beautiful disaster.
In addition to Rhodes appearance, Saturdays card features World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defending his title against Dolph Ziggler and CM Punk teaming up with RVD in a tag team match. WWE Superstars Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett and R-Truth are also scheduled to appear.
The live events are the best things WWE does, and we have a really loaded show set for Macon, Rhodes said. We always try to top ourselves, and youll never see the same show again.
