An elderly man sitting outside his Sprucewood Drive home was robbed early Thursday morning.

The 75-year-old man was approached about 9:30 a.m. by three men who asked if he repaired lawn mowers.

Howard Reed told them he did not usually work on others’ mowers, and as he stood up was hit in the head, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The three men dressed in black and gray, who were about 6 feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds, took the man’s wallet and escaped in a black vehicle, the release stated.

Reed was treated on the scene for a minor wound suffered in the robbery.
