Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a man Tuesday at a Columbus hotel in connection with the July 5 shooting at Macons Zodiac Lounge that left three people shot and a fourth killed.
Investigation led the team to a hotel on Victory Drive in Columbus. Task force members were able to determine which room 27-year-old John Michael Hollingshed was using and knocked on the door, said Deputy U.S. Marshal John Edgar.
A woman answered the door and task force members found Hollingshed on the bed.
We arrested him without incident, Edgar said.
Hollingshed is charged with felony murder in the death of 17-year-old Jamonni Bland and criminal attempt to commit murder in the shooting of 21-year-old Deion Davis. He also is charged with participating in criminal gang activities. He is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond, according to jail records.
Hollingshed allegedly shot Davis eight times shortly after a group beating inside the Zodiac Lounge at the RiverView Event Center near Walnut Street and Broadway in downtown Macon.
Hollingshed is the sixth person arrested in the case.
The task force still is searching for two other people wanted in the shooting. Arrest warrants have been issued for Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, 27; and Jimmy Scott III, 29. Anyone with information about the shooting or the whereabouts of the people wanted by police is asked to call police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68CRIME.
