A Macon-Bibb County firefighter hit by a car while on duty July 11 is still in critical but stable condition, Fire Chief Marvin Riggins said Tuesday.
Riggins said that while fire Sgt. Eric Johns official condition has not changed, doctors are optimistic about the progression theyve seen. Riggins said Johns vitals have been good and that he is due to undergo more surgery soon.
Were very grateful for the outpouring of support that the family and Eric have received, in addition to the fire department, Riggins said. Were very optimistic.
John was injured when he was struck by a car July 11 while cleaning up a wreck on I-75.
