Robber sought in Macon grocery store robbery

A man made off with cash at the self-checkout section of an east Macon grocery store early Monday morning.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a middle-aged white man, who appeared to be shopping, gave the clerk a note demanding money, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

The man, who was wearing orange sweat pants, a gray shirt and baseball cap, walked out of the store and got away.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 877-68CRIME.
