In the first inning of Saturday’s game at the Georgia Little League 11-12-year-old state tournament, the Warner Robins American West All-Stars took a 9-0 lead and didn’t look back.

Warner Robins defeated West Point 17-0 in a run-ruled game in four innings.

The tournament is a four-game pool play format. The top two teams from each pool will go on to the semifinals, which will be played Thursday.

“I’m real proud of the boys,” manager Brad King said.

Blake King, Ben Gibbs, Chandler Dawson and Corbet Luna each pitched one inning apiece, and the four combined to record 10 strikeouts and allow one hit.

“They pitched really well and hit really well,” said King.

Leading hitters for Warner Robins were Jacob Pierce (home run and three RBI), Cameron Jones (2-for-3 with a solo home run), Blake King (2-for-3) and Cole Hooks and Wade Smith (each with two RBI).

Warner Robins will face Cartersville at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The live webstream can be found at www.ustream.tv/channel/little-league-state-tournament.
