Georgia coach Mark Richt talks with reporters during the Southeastern Conference football Media Days in Hoover, Ala., Thursday.

HOOVER, Ala. - Georgia is the media pick to win a third straight division title, but not the SEC championship.

Georgia had 1,570 point-votes (seven points for first, six for second, etc.), while South Carolina got 1,474, and Florida had 1,300. Those were the only teams to get first-place votes: Georgia had 149, South Carolina 75 and Florida 19.

"I knew it was gonna be us, Florida or South Carolina," Georgia head coach Mark Richt said, then laughed. "I think it's a tough call, this year in particular, with those three teams. You never know what Tennessee will rise up and do, or anyone for that matter."

The rest of the predicted order in the East: Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Missouri and Kentucky.

Alabama received the vast majority of votes (182) to win the SEC championship. Georgia got 38 votes, South Carolina got 18, Texas A&M had four votes and LSU had one.

Meanwhile, just two Georgia players were named to the preseason all-SEC first team: Tight end Arthur Lynch and running back Todd Gurley.

Quarterback Aaron Murray was relegated to third team, behind first-teamer Johnny Manziel and second-teamer A.J. McCarron.

Georgia players on the second team: Running back Keith Marshall, guard Chris Burnette, linebacker Jordan Jenkins and cornerback Damian Swann.

Also making the third-team: Receiver Malcolm Mitchell and defensive end Garrison Smith.
