Two events are being held Tuesday in Macon in the wake of the verdict in the trial of George Zimmerman.

A march is planned in support of Trayvon Martin and the issues of gun control Tuesday afternoon. The marchers, who are requested to wear hoodies and bring signs, will meet at Central City Park at 3:30 p.m. and march at 4 p.m. to the federal courthouse on Mulberry Street.

Later in the evening, Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church is hosting a prayer vigil at 6 p.m. The Rev. Stephen Summerow said the focus is on prayer and trying to help anyone who is disappointed or disgruntled by the verdict. He said attendees are also planning to wear hoodies. The church is located at 1220 Rev. J.L. Mills Way.
