Macon's Shakenneth Williams leads off Dawg Night recruiting haul

ATHENS - The pipeline from Macon to Athens, dormant for awhile, has a new addition.

Receiver Shakenneth Williams of Rutland High School committed to play at Georgia on Friday night, according to Dawgs247.com. Williams made his commitment on Dawg Night, the camp event on UGA's campus.

Williams is rated a four-star prospect by the 247 Composite, and is listed at 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds.

Rutland High School head coach George Collins was an All-American offensive lineman at Georgia in 1978, after starring at Warner-Robins High School. He went on to a six-year NFL career.

Florida safety also commits

It was a busy night on the recruiting front for Georgia: Safety Kendall Gant of Lakeland, Fla., also committed, per several recruiting sites.

Gant, listed at 6-2 and 185 pounds, is also rated a four-star prospect.

Third commitment: Offensive lineman

Offensive lineman Dyshon Sims beccame the third commitment of Dawg Night, and the 15th overall for the 2014 class.

Sims is rated a four-star prospect, and the nation's 26th-best offensive tackle, according to 247Sports. Listed at 6-4 and 278 pounds, he also had an offer from Alabama.
