Four men have been sentenced for their roles in the July 24, 2011, armed robbery at the Krystal restaurant on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon.
During the armed robbery, bandits made off with a cash drawer and cellphones from people inside. Macon police chased down the getaway car about a mile away off E Street, near the Interstate 75 interchange at Eisenhower Parkway.
Before the getaway car crashed into a stop sign, the bandits tossed out the cash drawer from the restaurant and a gun, police said. Five men were indicted in the case in Feburary 2012.
Prosecutor Nancy Scott Malcor said this week that Anthony Barnett, Joseph Jordan and Elio Bryant all pleaded guilty to armed robbery. Bryant was sentenced Wednesday afternoon to 10 years in prison, while Barnett and Jordan were sentenced to 20 years Tuesday, Malcor said.
Malcor also said Warrick Evans pleaded guilty to criminal intent to commit robbery and was sentenced to five years Tuesday. Meanwhile, charges against Brandon Smith were dropped Wednesday.
