It sure is hot outside. Good thing Macon Arts Alliance has an indoor exhibit designed to help you share the summer fun spirit, but not its temperatures.
Fun in the Sun features the collage paintings of Macon artist Lucy Richardson and work by ceramic artist Lauren Bausch. An opening reception will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Macon Arts gallery where beach-themed refreshments will be served.
From her new series, Permanent Vacation, Richardson creates stunning images of women living in a perpetual paradise. Under the umbrella, on a float or with a drink in hand, her sunbathing beauties will perk your spirits on the hottest days of summer, according to a news release.
Bausch is a young ceramicist living in Centerville who creates whimsical ceramic mugs, intricate ceramic jewelry and sculptural pieces reminiscent of coral reefs.
Her beautiful and colorful pottery is the perfect complement to Richardsons vibrant paintings. Youll be inspired to drink your mai-tai from a ceramic mug when you see (her) new work, Jonathan Dye, director of communications at Macon Arts, said in the release.
The exhibit will be on display at the gallery through July 27.
