Hotel clerk robbed at gunpoint in north Bibb

A clerk at the Comfort Inn & Suites at 3935 Arkwright Road was robbed at 2 a.m. Thursday, authorities said.

Witnesses told Bibb County sheriff’s deputies that an armed man demanded money from the clerk as well as his personal computer and cellphone and then fled with them, a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release stated. No one was harmed during the armed robbery.

The man was described in the release as white, about 5 feet 7 inches in height with a medium build. He was wearing dark clothing and a white mask.

He was seen leaving the hotel in a white, possibly late 1990s or early 2000s model, sedan, the release stated. The tag number was not known.
