A Milledgeville man died Monday afternoon after he was thrown from his Toyota Scion iQ.

Timothy Collins, 65, was headed south on Ga. 49 when he crossed the center line near mile marker 8 and hit head-on a Ford Fusion heading north, according to an initial report from the Georgia State Patrol.

The Toyota spun counter-clockwise and threw Collins from the vehicle.

The driver of a northbound Mitsubishi Mirage swerved to avoid the accident and wound up in a ditch, the report stated.

The drivers of the Mitsubishi and Ford were injured and taken to the hospital.
