WARNER ROBINS -- The 7-8-year-old West All-Star team from Warner Robins American Little League proved it had grit Tuesday in the Southern Sectional baseball tournament.

Down 7-3 going into the final at-bats in the top of the sixth inning against Columbus Northern Little League, the WRALL players rallied to win 10-7.

“I never stopped telling them we would win,” manager Jeremy Avery said.

From a spectacular catch from center fielder Chaz Sturn to a play by catcher Cohen Ingle to throw out a runner trying to steal second base in the bottom of the final inning, the players did everything they could to help themselves overcome the four-run deficit.

“They all believe,” Avery said.

With the win, WRALL West will again face Columbus Northern for the Southern Sectional championship at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at WRALL Field 4.
