It’s blueberry season and a good time for cooks and bakers to come up with something creative using the nutritious fruit.

The Georgia Blueberry Commission is holding its first Sweet Georgia Blues Recipe Contest in celebration of Georgia blueberry month. Blueberry fans are asked to create and photograph an original recipe using Georgia blueberries.

Submitted recipes will be posted on the commission’s website and Facebook page for voting. Recipes must be submitted and votes will be accepted through June 30. Winners will be announced July 8.

The recipe creator with the most votes will win $500. After the winning recipe, those submitting the next top two recipes will receive a basket full of goodies.
