A clerk with a pair of scissors held off a would-be robber with a knife at the Best Western on Chambers Road in Bibb County.

At about 10 p.m. Monday, a thin black man with a beard, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, entered the office and threatened the clerk, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

When the clerk pointed a pair of scissors at the man, he ran toward Wal-Mart.

The culprit was wearing a red cap with a gold “A” on it, a white shirt and blue jeans when he got into a black four-door sedan, the release stated.
