Witnesses helped Bibb County deputies capture one of two armed robbery suspects accused of holding up the Tobesofkee Lake Store at about 11:15 a.m. Monday.
Christopher Darnell Heath, 35, of Bel Air Drive, was arrested and charged with armed robbery after witnesses blocked the alleged getaway car, a silver Chevrolet Impala that was parked in a wooded area near the store at 6024 Mosely Dixon Road, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriffs Office.
Heath, who also was arrested for armed robbery in 2001, was behind the wheel when the gunman fled into the muddy woods, according to the release.
Those who saw the robbery said the gunman was dressed in black and was wearing a black bandana when he threatened the clerk with a black semiautomatic pistol and got away with the cash.
Investigator Jack Cleveland chased the man, who could go by the name of Willie.
Cleveland recovered the gun, money and the mans brown shoes and clothes, the release stated.
